1993 Flood
In the aftermath of extreme rainfalls the rivers Danube, Main, Lahn, Moselle and Rhine show particularly high water levels. Especially the gauges at the river Moselle show record breaking water levels. The water level in Cologne almost equals the centennial record of 1926. Major parts of the historic Old Town are flooded. Five casualties and an economic damage of 500 million Euros.
